Fundraising just got easier!

What can CommUnity do for your community group?

Do you belong to a school, sports club, food bank, animal shelter, non-profit, charity or amateur dramatic society? Does the endless struggle for funding overshadow the true purpose of your organisation?

CommUnity is here to help. Our sole purpose is to generate ongoing funding for Kiwi community groups. CommUnity is a sustainable platform to generate funds and flourish—at no cost to you or your organisation.

It costs your Community Group… nothing!

Register as a CommUnity Group. CommUnity Members can choose to support you as one of their three nominated CommUnity Groups. Every time a CommUnity Member shops at a CommUnity Merchant, you will be eligible to receive a percentage of the money spent—giving you a sustainable new ongoing revenue stream.

How does CommUnity work?

When your members, supporters, family and friends register as CommUnity Members, they’ll be asked to choose up to three CommUnity Groups to receive a small percentage of every in-store or online purchase they make at participating CommUnity Merchants. This percentage is agreed upon by the Merchant when they first register with CommUnity.

All funds raised are paid to CommUnity who then deposit 60% of the total amount raised from all CommUnity Members’ transactions at CommUnity Merchants into the relevant CommUnity Group bank account each quarter. The remaining 40% goes into ‘The CommUnity Fund’ where all money after operating expenses (3-8% is our aim) goes back to the community through an application process that is designed to cater for future projects or programs. CommUnity is providing untagged funds for annual operations (60%) as well as funding for future projects and programs (40%). CommUnity has the ability to fund up to 100% of the funding required for the successful project or program applicants (no promises). CommUnity will work alongside all other funding agencies to turn your plans into realities.

CommUnity. Turning Commerce into Community.

What are the benefits?

Aside from receiving an ongoing source of income directly from your supporters, CommUnity Groups also benefit from…

  • Online access to real-time reports detailing how much money has been raised for your organisation
  • The freedom to focus on the true purpose of your organisation, rather than money. More volunteers for management or governance due to your emphasis on activity
  • The ability to monitor the number of members supporting your organisation
  • A direct connection to the CommUnity Merchants who support you
  • The more you focus on CommUnity and maximize your involvement, the more funding you will gain
  • A reduced emphasis on fundraising, returning a sense of purpose and fun to your individual members and volunteers
  • More volunteers for management or governance due to your emphasis on activity, rather than funding

Untagged, ongoing funding. It really is that simple!

What’s the catch?

If you are legally registered as a community group or charity with the New Zealand Companies Office, then there is no catch!

Whether you are a cultural, arts, music, education, religious, social welfare, sustainability, health or sporting and recreation group, CommUnity can provide you with a revenue stream directly proportional to the number of supporters you can mobilise as CommUnity Members.

CommUnity. Helping you to help your community.

Why are we doing this?

CommUnity was founded with the sole purpose of delivering as much money to Kiwi communities as possible. We seek to secure the future of New Zealand’s community groups and charities by giving them a new way to raise funds directly from the people who serve and support them.

CommUnity generates and circulates money through local merchants and back to the communities that support them—so everybody wins.

When you register with CommUnity you will gain access to a ongoing, untagged source of funding that does not divert you from the valuable work you are doing in the community.

CommUnity is about uniting the public, merchants, and community groups to strengthen and support one another.

It’s just better business!
